Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary war was caused by the 12 Colonies in America standing up to Britain for putting taxes on common goods and treating the colonies unfairly. King George was in debt with all the wars he fought and he needed a way to get money so he taxed the 12 Colonies on there common goods. The colonies did not like this because a lot of them were going into debt because of the taxes. Slowly the colonies boycotted most of the products that were taxed and fought back at tax collectors and destroying there houses and such. Eventually Great Britain sent troops into the 12 colonies to keep order and made the colonists treat the troops nice and have them live with the colonists. The colonists did not like this and started to stock pile with weapons. The Revolutionary War started and the odds were stacked against the colonists for winning the war. They were led by George Washington as there general and they went through every battle with passion of winning there liberty and becoming a free county. With the help of the French the Colonists were able to win and beat the worlds most powerful force, Great Britain. The colonists formed a democracy and gained there freedom and liberty. Revolutionary war and liberty
The Revolutionary war was all about the colonist getting there liberty back and fighting to do the right as what they please. If the colonists did not have the passion of getting there liberty they would not have been able to mentally prepare themselves for battle and the war as a whole. The colonists were treated unfairly with taxes and laws, this inspired them to get there liberty back. Liberty is the right to do as you please and not be held back by others and have them stop you. This event in history connects to that because liberty is the thing that inspired the colonists to fight in the first place and this ideal also helped them to win the war. |
Middle East Girls fighting back
Many girls in the middle east are not allowed to go to school because of religious purposes. Many extreme religious groups kill any of the girls if found going to school. One girl named Mallala stood up to the Taliban, one of the extremist groups. She went to a school near where she lived because she wanted to learn and gain knowledge. The Taliban did not like the fact that she was going against there religious beliefs so the Taliban did a hit and run so they shot her in the head and drove off. Mallala was rushed to the hospital and cared for. Luckily she survived her head shot and recovered. She later wrote a book about what happened and inspired many other middle eastern girls to fight back and go to school.
Middle eastern girls and liberty
The ideal liberty connects to the middle eastern girls because they are fighting back against the Taliban for there liberty of being able to do as what they please. The middle eastern girls took there liberty back from the taliban by standing up to them. The middle eastern girls are fighting now to be able to go to school. There liberty gives them the right to go to school and get an education. As the taliban keep pushing girls like mallala around the more they want to fight back and gain there liberty.
